Factor Eight
Andrew Bennett (alias Factor Eight) is making waves in music and film industries both locally to his prairie home of Saskatchewan, Canada, and abroad with acclaimed tracks like the orchestral hit ‘The Beginning’ placed on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, and the SOCAN Award-Winning score ‘Impetus’. Organically developing an audience simply by sharing music on SoundCloud back in 2012, Andrew has developed a captive audience through social media platforms. With thousands of followers on Instagram and Facebook, monthly paid subscribers on Bandcamp, and thousands of monthly listeners on Spotify, Factor Eight is on the cusp of becoming a well-known name in the music and film industries.
As an Ableton producer master-mind, Andrew has established a unique sound at the intersection of electronics and classical compositions, drawing audiences and and filmmakers to emotionally connect through vibrant harmonies and textural details. Through the pairing of music with visual media, Factor Eight has worked alongside artists, filmmakers and brands around the globe that include GMC, ESPN, Fox Broadcasting Company, HEAD, Salomon, X-Games, Jaybird, Whistler Blackcomb, and Gillette. His work is recognized by three consecutive Western Canadian Music Award nominations for Visual Media Composer of the Year in 2016, 2017, and 2018, and a SOCAN Foundation Award in 2018.
Factor Eight continues to bring a genre-bending experimental approach to both solo and collaborative work while holding true to his own artistic voice. Supported by the Saskatchewan Arts Board, his impending second LP release ‘A DØ’ on DEC 2, 2020 is no exception to this rule. With each project, Factor Eight aims to push the boundaries of normality while striving to inspire emotion in his audience.
